About Excel OSPT

At Excel Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy, our team of licensed physical therapists are dedicated to providing exceptional care that gets you back to doing the things you love. Our goal is to help you achieve your highest level of physical function and well-being. We offer hands-on, personalized treatment plans designed to address your individual needs and goals. Owner

Greg Stemkowski

Greg Stemkowski graduated from D’Youville College, Buffalo, NY in 1998 with a Bachelors of Science degree in biology and Master’s of Science degree in Physical Therapy. He also achieved a Bachlors of Science degree in Psychology from St. Thomas Aquinas College, Sparkill, NY in 1989.

In 2003, Greg became co-owner of Procore Physical Therapy in Rockland County, NY. In the 17 years as co-owner, he successfully expanded his business to four locations with a focus on orthopedic and sports rehabilitation.

During his years with Procore Physical Therapy, Greg became certified as a strength and conditioning specialist through NSCA; a performance enhancement specialist through NASM; a certified Graston Technique specialist; and a certified level 1 golf fitness instructor through the Titliest Performance Institute.

In 2020, Greg sold his business to JagOne Physical Therapy and was retained as a Clinic Director until 2023. He is currently the owner and Clinic Director of Excel Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy in Bethel, CT.

Greg holds a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy, a Bachelor's degree in Biology, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Along with his degrees, he has extensive knowledge of biomechanics, helping him help others.

With Greg's expertise in technique, he has the ability to help all of his patients achieve the maximum therapeutic benefit from physical therapy.

What types of health insurance do you accept and do I need a Doctor's referral?

At Excel OSPT we work with all of our patients as we take all in and out of network insurance. We’ll consult with you and review your health plan to make the payment process as easy and hassle-free as possible. No prescription? No problem. The ability to visit an orthopedic physical therapist without a physician’s prescription or referral is called Direct Access, and it can get you on a speedier path to recovery.

What conditions do you treat?

At Excel OSPT we perform various types of treatments, and will customize a program combining the best techniques specific for your particular injury. The modalities and techniques we use include soft tissue massage, joint mobilization, electrical stimulation, stretching, therapeutic exercises, and ice. The treatment program will be performed in a treatment room as well as a gym setting using a variety of athletic and rehabilitation equipment.
